Morgan McKinney (born 1983, Nassau, The Bahamas) is a designer and carpenter that makes custom furniture out of locally sourced wood. McKinney's designs include limited edition hand-carved objects, both functional and decorative, custom work and highly detailed sculptures, such as the sea-egg that we have in our own collection. A designer by trade, McKinney's works are so meticulous and original, we struggle to see them as anything other than artworks.
McKinney studied Interior Design and Furniture design at Savannah College of Art and Design, graduating in 2007. After college, he returned to The Bahamas and worked as a CAD designer and in construction for a few years before setting up his own company in 2011, MECO Design Ltd. He has been in high demand ever since. You can see his work at Mahogany House Restaurant and The Island House Hotel, and he also outfitted Blue Sail restaurant and Compass Point Restaurant. McKinney works out of his workshop in Nassau.
