Fragments of Being

01/23/2025-02/13/2025

"Fragments of Being" is a mixed media and collage-based exhibition exploring the human figure and fluidity of identity. Artists deal with themes of vulnerability, transformation, resilience, otherness, and belonging. There is an allusion to “becoming” as a continuous process, where identity is never fixed and always in a state of flux. In these layered compositions, the artists explore the ways in which fragments of the self — memories, experiences, emotions, and perceptions — collide and intersect to inform an individual’s understanding of who they are. The works, with pieces cut, pasted, and reassembled, become a metaphor for fragmented identity as they evolve in the process.

This group show invites the viewer to meditate on identity from multiple perspectives — personal, cultural, and societal. The methods and materials used speak to the complexity of the human experience, but also unveil its fragility and delicacy.

This show celebrates the very imperfect, layered, and evolving qualities of self-hood.
